2018 Highlights week #25: meeting room views

I spend quite a lot of time in meetings. It is nice when they have good views.

2018 Highlights Week #23: Melissa and Sebastian make tagines

One of Sebastian’s gift from last year was a cooking class. We finally got around to picking it and I decided to come to for an evening of tagine making. After all, we had a tagine dish which I had almost never used.

First up, we made the chermoula for the vegetable tagine we were making. Ours got its beautiful pink colour from the enormous Spanish onion that went into it.

The chermoula also required lots of garlic. As did the lamb tagine we went on to make next.

Here are the vegetables cooking away

We made a lamb tagine but as it needed to cook for some hours, got to eat one cooked earlier by the teacher, and took home our own.

It was super delicious, as was the vegetable chermoula.

We were pretty happy, and just look at the awesomeness as it was served below.

The class was at Foodish at the Belconnen Markets and was lots of fun with wine and nibbles and a big meal at the end. Definitely recommend.

A year in the life 2016 #324: rainbows and dramatic skies

Pokē hunting across the lake also gives the opportunity to take in the visually spectacular nature of Canberra in stormy weather.

Nothing like sunset and threatening skies to make Canberra look amazing.

A year in the life 2016 #302: glorious carillion

Canberra has some stunning sunsets and some beautiful sights.

Visiting the carillion at dusk is certainly worth it forvthe aesthetics (also for the magikarp).

A year in the life 2016 #296: sunshine and blue skies

One of the habits I have tried to maintain since returning to work has been to get out of the office every day, even if just for ten minutes. On beautiful days like today, it is an easy resolution to keep.

A year in the life 2016 #260: spring purples

I love this patch of purple and blossoms I pass on my way to work after walking Zac to school. Always brightens my morning.

A year in the life 2016 #253: blue skies

The skies are  blue and  the weather is getting warmer even if the leaves haven’t completely returned yet.

A year in the life 2016 #210: office view

It is hard to beat the view from our offices really.

A year in the life 2016 #206: post work sunset

It is lovely to walk to and from work, and even more lovely to be able to leave and walk home through the sunset.

Especially a lovely sunset.

A year in the life 2016 #18: flying

First flight of the year! Off to Canberra – me for work, Sebastian to get his braces checked. Of course there was drama when we arrived because I discovered that,  dufus that I am, i had booked flights for Seb the following week . However, let us just say that some days it really pays to be a Platinum Frequent Flyer and excellent service from Qstas meant everything was sorted before we took off.

We were both excited to discover that The Martian was on the inflight movies and, even though we knew we had no hope of finishing it before we got to Canberra, we made a pact and started watching simultaneously, grimacing together when inflight announcements happened and poking each other during the exciting bits (we have both read the book in the last month). Lots of fun.

And then we landed to this in Canberra…
