Zac wins his first award

So Zachary got his first school award today – for extreme helpfulness in supporting his teacher and classmates. He was chuffed – and it seems that he has settled in well!

A year in the life…day 60: best friend lunch


Natasha was in town for a lunch supporting ovarian cancer research and paying tribute to former Senator Jeannie Ferris who died of the disease. But she also had time for lunch. It is so nice to be able to catch up. I miss my best friend sometimes.

A year in the life…day 59: giant ‘shrooms

It has been raining pretty much constantly since Sunday. I have a house full of wet shoes as the small boys have been walking home with our new afternoon babysitter Shilpa each day. I got thoroughly filthy riding my bike home this afternoon, not to mention a little wet. There is water everywhere. So I guess it is no surprise that monster mushrooms are growing in the back yard.

A year in the life…day 58: that kind of day


After oversleeping on the first day of my week of sole parenting, it was always going to be the kind of day in which fizzy caffeinated beverages* and fundraising chocolate come to the rescue.
