A year in the life 2016 #56: Jameses

I already have a lot of James in my life, but today I took my mother to see the James plays – three plays about James I, James II and James III of Scotland. We started at noon with I and carried on through to finish III before 11pm.

I  think I liked James I the best, but they were all excellent – brilliant staging, terrific acting and interesting and engaging writing. When you’ve spent that much time watching plays, being sad they are ending is definitely a good sign. They were an excellent experience and it was lovely to apend the day with my mother, just back from a six week cruise. We often used to go to the theatre – just the two of us – so great to have the chance to do that again.
