ANZAC biscuits

So I am not really a let’s-make-ANZAC-biscuits-on-ANZAC-Day kind of person. I am not sure we should treat it as some kind of festive holiday with accompanying food etc. However, this year, for some time, the boys, and Jude in particular, had been asking if we could. So this afternoon we cooked some up.

Jude was the dry ingredient team.

While Zac and his beloved golden syrup were the wet ingredients team.

They did enjoy the bit where we added the bicarb soda to the golden syrup and butter and it foamed dramatically.

After much combining of ingredients, Jude and I rolled up balls of biscuit.

Cooked them up to some beautiful golden biscuits, ready to be eaten for dessert.
