A year in the life…day 44: another one to worry about


When I got up in the morning, George failed to turn up in the kitchen. He wasn’t to be found on  any of the boys’ beds. While I was having a mild panic attack, I had to keep a brave face on for the small boys. George hadn’t been outside before, but I figured that was the only place he could be. James had caught a plane very early, and I assumed that George must have slipped out in the darkness. Fortunately, just as we were about to leave the house there was a “MEEOW” at the front door. George had returned. It made me realise how much a new addition to the house just adds to the whole worry-load…
